Location, location, location! The mantra
Of the retailer. Find the right corner,
The one where people pool and eddy
As they flow to the El stairs, as if the jutting
Angle of the building were a rock.
Some will splash against your window,
Some hesitate, some will buy
A cup of coffee, latté, a cappuccino. This
Sense of location still exists as more
Than the binary of ones and zeros, or cell
Phone chatter, all the murmuring words
Cast off and hovering above the flowing
Bodies—that indistinguishable current
Of sound which is the sound of the creek
As the sun dies away.
