Bill
Kirby is an artist who has a lust for the City of Chicago and reveres
the heritage, history and distinct character of the Windy City. Bill
is saddened by the lack of respect for the generations before us
who built
Chicago into a world-class city.
Bill's disgusted
with the neglect of Chicago's heritage and history — as well as
the homogenization of Chicago's unique aspects by The Powers
That
Be. Whatever happend to the spirit that made Chicago a take-no-bullshit
kind of town?
A
longtime resident of Chicago, Bill is a photography
teacher at Colombia College of Chicago and a graduate of Rhode
Island School of Design. He's been creating cartoon characters
(such as "Otto" and "Buzz
Razzmadore") since childhood, and was a full-time staff photographer
in the Chicago 2000 photography project.
